I hope you have time to enjoy visiting my home page and all the previous litters bred under my prefix.
If you are interested in joining
the team, please read the pages breeding
ethics, brood
bitches (out of date) and
health
statistics (included with each dogs own page) to get the idea of
our aims.
All those needs lots of updating,
but at least you`ll see what has the situation been in the
beginning of my career as a Border Collie breeder.
Now at 2017 we x-ray hips, elbows, shoulders and back from the
dogs we plan to use for breeding and have our dogs
eye tested as a puppy, adult eye test and gonioscopy our
breeding stock and encourage all the dogs we`ve bred to do
the same too. We also either DNA test for CEA/CH, CL and TNS or
use dogs who are clear by parentage/grandparents
and plan to start testing also for MDR1 in the near future too
as well as any new diseases that will have test developed
to avoid getting any ill progeny. Unfortunately not all diseases
have DNA based background or the DNA test has not been
developed so far. But we follow the science world and try to do
our best to breed as healthy dogs as we can.

Pikkupaimenen Border
Collies and Shelties are bred three main aims in mind:
Health, temperament & suitability to different
performance activities and correct structure. All of the
puppies are looking for suitable
home who is seriously interested in some kind of performance
activity/activities with their future puppy. Suitable puppy is
chosen by
their temperament as they grow up, and final decission of their
future home will be done by the age 6-7 weeks, when we hope to see
well enough the characteristics of the pups to know which of
them suits best each of the future owners and their vise versa.
Decission
of the of the future owners of each puppy will be based on
temperament and suitability of the puppy and future owner, NEVER
by the
colour or any other reason like that. None of our puppies are
suitable for pets only, as they are far too active for that. Also,
there are far
more suitable dogs if you are looking for a company for your daily
walks. But if you are interested in active hobby with training a
dog,
write me an email to sari (at) pikkupaimenen.com or call one of
the owners of or team that lives near you and organize to meet
some of
our dogs to hear more. Their phone numbers can be seen
below.
All of our puppies
include lifetime 24/7 hour guarantee. In case of problems you can
- and we hope you do - contact us any time all through
the life of your dog since puppyhood till the old age. We try to
solve the problms or help you to find place or person who can
together with
us help you. We also love to share also the good news, all about
successful trainings, and what´s best, if you ever happen to
compete,
to hear the results of the competition is the best thing we know
to wait, no matter if it has been first or last.
If you prefer to call
and perhaps also meet some of
team Pikkupaimenen dogs training, you can meet them around
Finland
and call
Team Pikkupaimenen Border Collies & their owners near you.
